Juneteenth Productions is a Chicago-based full service media production company that specializes in social issue documentaries, educational videos and media, and social marketing campaigns.  Founded in 1997, we develop, write and produce television programs and documentaries, educational and informational videos, radio and television public service announcements, media campaigns, and websites.  Additionally, we orchestrate focus group research in the development of marketing goals and objectives, and collect follow-up data that identifies the reach and impact of specific media efforts. Social issues addressed include human rights and empowerment, social justice, health education, and HIV and STD prevention, with clients ranging from nonprofits to healthcare providers to broadcasters.

Juneteenth Productions is a certified woman-owned and minority-owned company.   President and founder Judith McCray is an Emmy award-winning writer, director and producer with over twenty years of experience producing documentaries and public affairs programs for commercial, cable and public television, and radio. Public television documentaries include Nubia and the Mysteries of Kush;   Tracking Syphilis: Countdown to Elimination ;   Amazon Rising: Seasons of the River ;   For My People: The Life and Writing of Margaret Walker ; and   Mississippi, America .   Programs produced for national public radio include reports on youth activism, the physiology of sexual attraction, neighborhood gentrification, the Hawaiian indigenous peoples movement and the award-winning documentary Lost in their Native Lands , which addressed human rights issues affecting the world's indigenous communities. Programs have been nationally broadcast and distributed on PBS, NETA, WTTW-TV, WSIU-TV, the Stanley Foundation ("Common Ground" radio series), the National Black Programming Consortium, PBS Video and California Newsreel.

Internationally, programs have been exhibited in France, England, South Africa and the Pacific Islands. Multiple awards include the Chicago/Midwest Region Emmy, the American Bar Association Silver Gavel, the National Educational Media Network Silver Apple, and induction into the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame.

Juneteenth Productions has a proven funding record with the National Institutes for Health, Centers for Disease Control/City of Chicago, the National Science Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Illinois Humanities Council, the Iowa Humanities Board, the Mississippi Humanities Council, the National Black Programming Consortium, the Education Development Center, the Center for Understanding the Black Experience, and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
